DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Worker will perform routine project management work in support of the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV), Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) Division.
DUTIES
· Coordinates, plans, and evaluates projects approved by the TxDMV Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) using accepted project management methodologies and system development life cycle approaches.
· Assists in initiating projects, defining project scope, goals, resources, participants, and deliverables with senior management and stakeholders, obtaining authorization and commitment, and demonstrating business need and project feasibility.
· Applies agency’s standard criteria for evaluating programs, proposals, and other pertinent information related to project assignments.
· Assists in developing project budgets, schedules, timelines, milestones, work plans, resources requirements, cost estimates and projections using appropriate tools.
· Assists in project post mortems documenting successful and unsuccessful project elements in accordance with agency post mortem standards.
· Reviews and recommends proposals and bids to management.
· Monitors and manages project cost to ensure project completion within budget with acceptable level of quality.
· Monitors and manages project quality to ensure project deliverables are acceptable and fulfill the terms of the project contract or business requirements.
· Identifies potential project risks and difficulties and designs strategies to mitigate or avoid them.
· Liaises with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis; compiles and distributes project information, status reports, and project budget expenditures.
· Coordinates project activities with other state agencies, governmental jurisdictions, or private sector partners and contractors.
· Creates and maintains project documentation to comply with agency and state standards, requirements, and guidelines.
· Coordinates the work of other project team members.
